Legal Question in Employment Law in Indiana

No Paycheck

To whom it may concern,

My husband is a web designer that started working for a small locally owned business. The guy he was working for never had him fill out any tax information, but was taking taxes out of my husbands checks. Well finally this company started going down hill and one day when it was payday my husband and the other people in the office didnt get a paycheck at all. It has been over a month and after contacting this man time after time he will still not give anyone there checks. Is there something they can do to get there checks and also is it illegal to take taxes out on someone who has not given you any tax information. What should there next step be if this man does not pay them.

Thank you

Re: No Paycheck

The Indiana Dept. of Labor has jurisdiction over any wage claims less than $800. You can contact them at (317) 232-2655. I am not a tax attorney and do not know the answer to your tax question.
