Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in Indiana

I have a hip replacement that has been recalled. How do I proceed, do I file a claim with the company or do I independantly search for a lawyer, I missed 6 months of work due to post-op problems and months of severe pain before a 2nd surgery, not sure what to do next? Thanks

Usually on recalls, the companies will only replace the product and sometimes some or all of the medical expenses if you file your own claim and will not compensate you for other items of damages such as , disability, pain and suffering and lost wages. You need to hire an attorney who is knowledgeable in drug and medical device liability as well as medical malpractice since there is a possiblitly that the physician provided you with substandard care, depending on the circumstances. Is this the DePuy Recall? Please check my website www.indianapersonalinjurylawyer.net and my blog www.todayslawalert.com and feel free to call me.
