Legal Question in Personal Injury in Indiana

I am 18 now when I was 17 I got my jaw broke in a domestic violence my mother didn't file charges at the time I want to know now that I'm 18 can I sue for everything willy bills pain and suffering and such?

Legally, of course. You say this injury resulted from "domestic violence." If a parent or other relative injured you, how could you recover? Insurance only covers negligent acts. When someone hits you, it is an intentional act. That means it is not covered by insurance. If an injury is not covered by insurance, it will be very difficult to find an attorney because the attorney would have no idea whether he would ever get paid. A judgment can be discharged in bankruptcy or be paid through wage garnishment. No attorney could afford to be paid in that fashion.

What you can do is to make a police report and seek that criminal charges be filed. That said, the police and the courts are almost always the worst way to resolve family disputes unless you sincerely believe you may harmed in the future.
