Legal Question in Personal Injury in Indiana

I live in Indiana and i was renting from someone one morning I came out to start my car and slipped on ice and fell down stairs and injured my back now i have to have a very serious back surgery that could leave me without my bladder functions and or my erection functions. I know i have 2 years to file a claim , i have all the medical records, my question is can i sue the owner of the property (landlord) for damages,
