Legal Question in Product Liability in Indiana

My 2 year old bot seriously burned today on Orville redenbackers popcorn. The bag got a burn in the bottom down side of the bag so i did not see it. We did not overcook the popcorn but the bag has a hole in it. I pulled the bag out of the microwave and the butter fell on her face. The kind of popcorn was pour over popcorn so i dont know why their was butter in the bad.

I have the box and the bag that this happened in. Can i sue? I think it will scar her, like i said it just happened

A parent' s worst nightmare!!! Let's hope that she makes a full recovery without physiocal or emotional scars. It is a bit early to sue, but at some point you can pursue a claim. You should preserve the box and bag and take pictures of your child's injuries on a regular basis. If you witnessed what happened to her, you might be able to sue for your own emotional injuries, also.

Under no circumstances should you talk with ConAgra, the company that owns Reddenbacker or their insurer without having an attorney. You should contact an attorney as soon as possible so that a proper investigation takes place. If you do not know of an injury attorney, you may feel free to contact me if you need some help. I handle injury cases on a no recovery no fee basis throughout Indiana.

I am sorry to hear of your little girl's injuries. You have have a products liability claim that can be advanced to pay for your girl's medical bills, her pain and suffering and any permanent scarring she may have sustained.

Please be sure to keep the containers the popcorn came in. Please also pursue all medical treatment recommended. If you have health insurance, you can have the medical bills paid for through your health insurance. If you do not have health insurance, there may be other ways to get your daughter the treatment she needs.

Please let me know if you wish to discuss this situation further.
