Legal Question in Product Liability in Indiana

mailed something person says they didn't receive it

I sold something to someone I had in the auction that if delivery confermation and insurance is declined that I am not responsible once it's in the postal hands. this person declined both now there saying that the package never arrived. They are threating with the police department. Am I responsible for this packages if they declined both tracking methods?

Do both parties live in the same state? That can change things. Do you have proof that you mailed it? You should be keeping shipping records to show what payments are being received, for what product, when it shipped and by what method.
