Re: couples own property but not married

Based on the information in your question, you are entitled to at least one half the property, and you may be entitled to a judgment against your boyfriend for the loan amount that is liened against the property. However, one wonders how your boyfriend got a loan on the property if you did not deed the property over to him. What happened to the loan proceeds? You may need to obtain a domestic violence restaining order while this is worked out. You may have to file a lawsuit asking for equitable distribution of property. Good luck.
