Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Indiana

My husband and I are on the title of our house but my Mother who passed away was the only one on the mortgage. Would we be responsible for the taxes and insurance if we give the house back to the bank?

You would have no personal responsibility for insurance on a house you no longer own. Technically you owe the taxes, but since the taxes get paid by selling the property, there is no practical debt there.
