Re: leins

It is possible for someone to purchase a mortgage or tax or other lien and then step into the same position as the original lienholder. So if the original lienholder would be able to foreclose, or has already foreclosed, then the substitute lienholder could do the same. But a court judgment is usually required to enforce a right to foreclosure. Please contact your local bar association (look in the Yellow Pages under Attorneys) and ask for a referral to someone with experience in real property law. Then go see that lawyer, with all the documents you have about your property. It also may be that these harrassing wishful purchasers are full of blue smoke, but you need to confer with an attorney to make sure. Good luck.
