Sheriff's Sale

My family notified me my home was up for a Sheriff's sale by reading abouit in in a local newspaper. I have never been notified by any one anything was even going to court or a deliquent notice.

Is this leagal to put my home up for sale if I have nevr been served any notice

Generally one receives notice in some form, such as a summons on a law suit to foreclose the mortgage or a notice from the county of non-payment of taxes. If not, you should call the sheriff to determine who has ordered your home to be sold. It may be a well-meaning friend or relative misread the notices. But you need to check it out and contact the attorney for the plaintiff.
