Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Indiana

Slip and fall

Almost a year ago when I moved into this rental house the landlord promised me that he would fix the broken concrete walkway. It has never been fixed and I have tripped on the broken concrete and am injured and off work for a month. Please tell me what I should do? I am a single parent raising 3 children and my doctor bills and everyday expences are adding up.

Thank you

Re: Slip and fall

You should retain an attorney, most of whom would be eager to accept representation on a contingency basis, and sue the landlord on a premises liability theory, to recover your damages. Be aware that slip and fall cases are one of the more difficult cases to prove in personal injury litigation, as there is almost always an element of contributory negligence. But be not afraid. Do it.
