Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Indiana

Time requirement on notice to terminate lease

My Indiana lease recently expired and, pursuant to the lease, I have been paying a month to month fee (rent plus an additional $40). My lease states that I can live at my apt month to month, but I still need to give them a 60 day notice of intent to vacate. Once I give notice, and then pay the 2 months rent, I can move and owe no additional money. I have heard that Indiana law only requires a 30 day notice of intent to vacate and that I am only responsible for 30 days rent. Does Indiana law have such a provision, and does this provision supercede my lease? If I give a 30 days notice, am I only obligated to pay for 30 days?
