I mom passed away 15 monts ago and my brother, who is the executor of the will, seems to be in no hurry to sell the real estate that was left to us to sell and divide. Is there a time limit on the sell of real estate?

Not really. Brother has to get the best value he can and that might take time. Especially with the present real estate market.
