Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Indiana

Property

My mother passed away 05/2001.

She had a house with a mortgage. since 2001 to the present I have been paying the mort. etc. there are 2 other sibblings, who have not contributed anything, the house is still in my mother's name. Do I owe my borther and sister anything? I do not want to go through probate if I don't have to. There are no wills, only bills

Re: Property

Going through probate would have saved you some major headaches. Your mother has died, no estate was opened, and you have been paying the mortgage for real estate to which you have no title. Maybe you thought that paying the mortgage would give you ownership of the property but it will not. Title determines who owns land. Paying the mortgage does not give you anything. There are ways to fix the problems you have created. You need an attorney who knows their real estate and probate law. And you need to find them soon.
