Legal Question in Technology Law in Iowa

Free forum changing to charge to access freely given information

A professional business forum I belong to has been free access to post and view posts by other memebers for several years. There is considerable content contributed by forum members about the day to day operations of their business field.

The owner of the forum has decided to change the forum to a member charge only access forum and not allowing access to the previously posted matertial by members under the free forum unless you pay.

Are there any legal problems with doing this. Under the Terms of service there is mention that the posts become the property of the website at the time of posting.

Thank you
