How long does a company have to collection money from a individual. The Collection Agency has no information for us. Just the amount they say we owe and to who we owned it to

If this is a consumer debt, under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, you have the right to have them verify the debt with the original creditor. They must advise you of this right, as well as several other rights you have, in their initial contact with you.
