Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Iowa

I am making monthly payments to my hospital bills,but the hospital wants a bigger amount of what Im paying. I cant afford much more.. I always heard as long as your making payments they cant do anything. Is this true or not???

Not true, unless you have a written agreement that the hospital (or any other creditor) will accept a certain amount as payment.
