Legal Question in Criminal Law in Iowa
My girlfriend and a friend of my mine went night fishing in short sheriff shows up I have a warrant so I take off before the cop sees me I drove there none of us had a license they charged my girlfriend with driving while barred because my friend was scared they were going to charge him with driving so he made up a story and told the police my girlfriend was driving when she wasn't I was can she still be charged even if my friend admits he was scared at the time and lied not to mention drunk?

I'm not sure how you could prove any of this or predict how it is going to shake out. There's not much to work with here. If your friend lied, why would the cops think he's now telling the truth, if that's what he decides to do? They're not likely to appreciate being lied to by someone who's willing to throw a woman to the dogs to save his own skin.
