Legal Question in Criminal Law in Iowa

oK i know someone in the state of iowa that is being charged with disorderly conduct and unauthorized possession of a weapon (in pocket during search) the biggest problem was he was on probation. He is a wonderful guy and yes does need to stop drinking and remembering the things he does. He was let out on bond for the new charges but for the probation violation he was set at no bond and to be held. Hes got some much going for him and has done some major changing and even got a great job thats depending on him. What can we do or family do to not get him sent to prison for years he has done prison time before it makes him really messed up and if he goes again its not gonna help but tear him down and prevent normalcy when he gets out

He's entitled to a court appointed attorney to represent him at the violation hearing, but the standard is civil-all the state must prove is that it is more likely than not that he did what he's accused of and the violation is established. Whether he is going to be revoked is another story. For input on that you should contact his attorney.
