Legal Question in Discrimination Law in Iowa

I work for the State of Iowa with the Dept of revenue. They are closing the office in Sioux City & reassigning our jobs to Des Moines. There are 3 revenue agents age 60 & older in this office. they are not allowing us to work from home like they have other offices when they closed. There are 2 other employees in the office who are in their late thirties to late forties. We are hearing rumors that once the 3 revenue agents are gone, that they will allow the other 2 younger employees to work from their home. Is there anything the revenue agents can do legally about this?

You didn't say whether you are represented by the union or not. If you do not have the ability to file a grievance there's not much in reality that you can do, based un as yet unproved rumor and speculation. If you feel that there's age discrimination afoot your next stop is a visit with an employment law attorney.
