Legal Question in Discrimination Law in Iowa

Workplace Discrimination

Basically, I feel like I am being discriminated against because my former employer will not promote me after being employed there for a year. He gives everyone else the opportunity but me and tells me this is because im not strong enough. He is constantly on me and I just take it because I love my job. He also out of the blue during one of our disscussions asks me if im off my meds, which he was wrong for doing. He did this in front of others employees. He also treats me differenty than the other employees to the point they are starting to notice as well and asking me why he does this. I am a very hard worker, I never miss work without a doctors note, I have regulars who always tell me they appriciate my service and I always come in on my day off when he needs me. So I dont know what else to do to make him treat me as an equal and give me the same opportunity as every on else. I love my job and I dont want to loose it, but I feel like hes pushing me to quit because he has no reason to fire me, what should I do.

(there is so much more to this, but not enough room. sorry so long)

Re: Workplace Discrimination

I don't think there's a legal question here. We have employment at will in Iowa which means that they can fire you for any reason, good reason or no reason. Perhaps you need to change jobs.
