Legal Question in Environmental Law in Iowa

I live in a small rural town of 250 people in central Iowa. A grain co-op built a 600,000 bushel storage bin a block from my from my front porch. The noise from the fans keep me from getting a good night sleep. They run the fans 24/7 when there is a “hot spot” in the corn. Since Christmas, it has not run very often but has for the last 48 hours and sleep is very hard to get. The city council likes the co-op because of the tax revenue. During fall harvest last year, the co-op had the fans running and also a new dryer. The noise was very bad. What action can I take to lessen the noise from the co-op?

I really don't have any good answers for you. You might be able to litigate a nuisance lawsuit if you and your neighbors have deep pockets to pay someone to do it, but that's about it.
