Legal Question in Family Law in Iowa

I am 18 years old. I just gave birth to my child a week ago. The baby's father is on the birth certificate. We have been having alot of problems. He is 19. He recently got a house in preperation for the baby. The baby stays there with us at his home. But all my items are at my parents home and I receive no mail at his house. I was told that I can get a document from a lawyer stating I am the babies guardian. Is this true and how much would I have to pay in order to receive this document.

You're an adult. You're a parent. What value would a statement that you're the baby's guardian have? File a change of address card with the post office. You don't need an attorney.
