Legal Question in Family Law in Iowa

My ex husband moved 6:30 hours away 3 years after our divorce. in the decree one is supposed to pick up and drop off. That was when he lived 45 minutes away. Does anything change since he chose to move that far away or do I still have to drive half way every other weekend. It is hard because I will not be able to leave until 4:30-5:00pm to take them down there and would return home at 5am in the morning. He told me he would hold me in contempt of court if I do not drive there. Please help.

Thank you

Unless the added distance has been addressed in a court order nobody's holding anybody in contempt. In fact threatening legal action when there's no basis for it is the cheapest form of currency. At most the judge would tell you don't do it again.

You'll have to work it out with your respective lawyers.

I do hope you did not use self help or do your own divorce.
