Legal Question in Family Law in Iowa

Can a judge continue with a hearing for a petition when a motion has been filed for a time extension If the motion is to find time to find an attorney to answer to the petition? Or if my motion is denied would the judge just request my answer

Yes. The judge can deny the motion for time extension and continue if he or she thinks you're stalling. Like I told you before, be ready to go forward in case your motion is denied.
