Validity of a legal document

Couple has lived together for 14 years in Arizona, Wyoming and for

nearly 4 years in Iowa. Couple are both artists. Last year the male partner transferred copyright priviledges to his female partner thinking they would be together forever. In April of this year, she left him and is now trying to claim copyright priviledges to all of his art. If this is even a valid document, is it still valid now that the relationship has changed and can he just cancel or withdraw the copyright priviledges?
