Legal Question in Family Law in Iowa

I am wondering if it's possible to have my kids dad's rights terminated.. he's on felony probation for drugs and stealing. He's currently being charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon (going to trial next month). And class 3 felony stealing $500 <$10k.. it's been about 2 years since he has seen or contacted the kids. Child support was finally court ordered Sept 2016 and he hasn't paid anything yet (he's worked random cash jobs).. I have full physical and legal custody.. he only has visitations per my discretion.. he's not stable and I worry about what would happen to my children if something happens to me! All of this was in Missouri except his 2 new cases, they are Illinois charges.. and I am nowhere near those states now.

I would say you could have the basis for termination under Chapter 600 of the code but you'll have to pay for the lawyers yourself.
