Legal Question in Employment Law in Iowa

Disclosing information by employer

I was unjustly terminated by an employer and I am concerned about what the employer can tell potential future employers when they call for a reference. What can they legally tell an employer?

The truth. However, most employers will limit themselves to dates of employment. Period.

They are always worried about litigation, slander etc.

What information are you concerned about?
