Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in Iowa

Hip replacement gone bad

I had a complete hip replacement in December of 2004. In August of 2008 - I started to have pain, numbness, loss of muscle tissue and limited motion. In January 2009 I was diagnosed with a tumor. In March of 2009 I was operated on and they removed a 10-15 cm tumor. In June I will have to go back and have my hip replacement worked on as it was the hip replacement that caused the tumor. Particles from rubbing caused the problem. I will have to have my hip replacement redone so it cannot happen again. Is it just life or is it someones fault? We have spent a small fortune and I was without my right leg for 9 monrhs.

Re: Hip replacement gone bad

Twenty-eight years of experience tells me this case will not be economically feasible to pursue in Iowa. I could be wrong but if there is insurance covering the next surgery those damages are not recoverable in a med. malp. action.
