Legal Question in Personal Injury in Iowa

pay ME for the damage to my property

the oil change people messed up my hood. i got estimates for the damage. i showed them the estimated. they refused to pay ME for the damage. they wanted to pay the body shop directly. They wouldn't give me the name of their insurance company.

since its my p[roperty, shouldn't i get the money for it and decide if, where and when i want the damage fixed?

its my money right? its my property!

I have to agree with you. You are damaged and the body shop should pay you for the damage. Now the laws of Iowa may dictate a different result, but it make sense to me that you receive the money and then be able to choose how when and if you get the damage repaired. Consult a lawyer in your state.
