Maritime marriage laws

Are there maritime laws that gives the captian rights to perform marriage at sea? And is there an age limit for the bride and groom? Where would such marriages be registered? For example: A young man is from the USA, however, the young lady is from Italy. It is her family who plans and take care of the marriage liscence. The wedding takes place in the carribeans seas, could the brides family register the marriage anywhere, if the marriage is performed on their family yacht?

If the wedding's made on the sea, it is as celebrated in the State whose the territorial seas in which the ship is in the moment of marriage. If the ship is in seas that aren't territorial seas of any States, the weddind is as celebrated in the State whose the ship is joined. In one or another State of the example the marriage has to be registered.
