Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Kansas

is it legal for employer to force and employee to sign a contract saying they wont take meds as perscribed by dr. or you remain suspended? even after i gave them dr note saying i could return to work they refuse to allow me to work is this legal? I was never even given the chance to prove that the medication nor off the job injury would interfere with my performance, and was allowed to work under the same medication a year ago, when i was in a position that was physically demanding. They know about my family's financial hardship at the moment (both parents jobless) and are using it as unfair leverage to get me to sign an agreement that i wasnt following dr. orders

What you describe sounds very troubling. An employer cannot 'force" an employee to sign anything. There may be times when an employer can coerce an employee to sign something to continue working there. I am not sure you have described all the relevant facts. Therefore, I suggest you consult directly with an employment attorney in your area. Many offer a free or low cost initial consultation.

Good luck
