Legal Question in Consumer Law in Kansas

Awhile back I was scheduled for a check up with a dentist, however that day I received a call from my daughters school that she was ill. I left work to get my child and forgot about the appt. Well they are trying to charge me a no show office visit fee. If I was not told or signed anything about this fee can they charge the fee?

If you were never told anyting about the no show fee, then the dentist woudl have trouble collecting it. However, many if not most dentists have patients sign a fininacial repsonsiblity agreement at their first visit. Most of those agreements include a now show fee statement. If this was nto yrou first visit to this dentis, you may have already initiale dor signed a financial repsosibility agreemtn that includes a no show fee statement. Many people don't pay attention to, or forget what they sign. Ask the dentist's office is they have any evicence of you ever agreeing to a no show fee.
