Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Kansas

being sued by loan company

our home was repossed several years ago. we have been unable finacially to make any payments on the loan. our monthly income is about $1100.00. We are raising an 8 yr old grandson. We have tried to get government help and have been denied. We have told the attorneys from the loan company our situation but they are still sueing us. We do not know what to do about it. The court date is March 12 th. We would rather not go bankrupt. We did that twice early in our marriage. They are not the only people that we owe money to but they are the only ones that are sueing us. Please advise

Re: being sued by loan company

I assume that you do not want to file bankriptcy because of the mar on your credit. The judgement of a creditor would probably be less of a mar than the bankruptcy. If you have no excess money, than there will be nothing for the creditor to levy upon to collect the judgement.

Good Luck
