Legal Question in Criminal Law in Kansas

Hi,

I was wondering how long a misdemeanor stays on your record in the state of Kansas. At the time I was told that I could try to get it expunged after three years however, I also vaguely remembering that something happens after seven years, I just don't remember what.

After three years you can request that it be expunged.

I assume you were convicted in Kansas. The answer is: it depends. Some misdemeanors can be expunged after 3 years. For some, you must wait 5 years. Others cannot be expunged at all. I would need to know exactly what crime you were charged with, and when you finished your sentence, before I can accurately advise you.
