If i plead not quilty on a case that i got a ticket for theft because i was with someone else who was supposedly shoplifting but they never found anything on any of us? Do i still get found guilty because they suspected it? Or should i just plead No contest? i dont know what to do seeings that i wasnt guilty of any crime i was just with someone else they thought stole something?

Plead not guilty and consult with an attorney. If you plead no contest, you will almost certainly be found guilty by the judge, and will face possible jail time and fines, and a theft conviction on your record.

The state must prove beyond a reasonable doubt that you are guilty. You are entitled to remain silent; but if you in fact took nothing, and nothing was found on you, I might consider counseling a client to testify, if, after studying the evidence, it was clearly in her best interest.
