Legal Question in Criminal Law in Kansas

Recently my boyfriend was picked up on failure to appear 2 hours after he missed his sentencing court. This whole court case has been going on for like a year and a half and he has been to every appearance and never missed. He got arrested on 1/13 and is still in there. He filed a motion to reinstate his bond and his lawyer first of all didn't even know he was arrested, I had to tell him. He also still has not been down there to see him. He has not got him in to see a judge, I call everyday he never returns my calls. I finally got a hold of him Friday 1/25 and said he had the papers. My question is does it take this long? Everyone is saying he should of already been out! Is his lawyer not doing his job? What is the process of reinstating his bond?

DeVoe Treadwell DeVoe Treadwell, Attorney at Law

Because he failed to appear it is unlikely the Judge will reinstate his bond. He will be held until his sentencing. The good news is that he will be given credit for any time served while awaiting his sentencing, and at his sentencing depending what his charges are, his criminal history is, and what pleas agreement he worked out through his attorney with the prosecutor will determine whether he is released or not. If you want you can call me and I can enter my appearance and finish his case. My number is 316-202-0360.
