Legal Question in Discrimination Law in Kansas

The police asked my 14 year old daughter if she did anything with another girl that was 17? my daughter said no. they then started asking her if her and her boyfriend that is age 14 if they were having sex and said they would prosecute her if they were. is that true?, they can prosecute 14 year olds dating 14 year olds? we are really upset. these kids are exclusively dating and almost 15. they have birth control and will not get pregnant. we have a don't ask don't tell policy for birth control. is it illegal for us to get our 14 year old birth control? i am affraid to talk to the police now. do we have to submit to any more questioning, or our daughter?

Meet with attornies in your area to find one you feel comfortable with You should then tell the police officers that they must go through your attorney if they wish to speak to your daughter again. It is not illegal per se for parents to obtain birth control for their daughter. Many girls start on BCPs at early ages for purely nonsexual medical reasons.

Good luck
