Legal Question in Family Law in Kansas

Child Support Amendment

I have a child support order that originated in Kansas. At the time of the order I was making $7000.00 / month. My income has drastically decreased now. I now live in NC, can I petition a court in NC to have my support order amended? Kansas has turned down my request for a change.

Re: Child Support Amendment

The place that your child support will be adjudicated is governed by the Uniform Child Custody Jurisdiction and Enforcement Act. It provides the rules for which court should be making orders. Those rules are too complex to cover in this forum. Consult an experienced family law attorney.
