Legal Question in Family Law in Kansas

Child support and second wife?

Hello, wondering if you can help me answer something. As a second wife of a man that has child support issues (he is not a dead beat, ex is wicked, he is working to resolve the problems) there are some issues that concern me.

I know that things can be done if there is arreages such as liens. What about my belongings? What about my car, my computer etc? If things are in my name are they safe? What if they were aquired during the marriage but are just mine, again things in my name?

I appreciate anything you can tell me, thanks.

In Arkansas, placing assetts in your name could be construed as a "fraudulent transfer" and they could be up for grabs, and they could be construed as "voluntary impoverishment" and also be up for grabs.

As to KS, I don't know, but suspect the same principles apply.

You need an Attorney. Hire one in your area to properly advise you as there is also potential criminal liability involved for arrearages beyond a certain amount. This is nothing to play with alone!
