Legal Question in Family Law in Kansas

I have been out of contact with my brother for years. If he was to die in the state of MO. or KS and the state had to bury him can the state leagaly come after us to recover the cost?

Generally, neither state cahrges a decedent's siblings for bural costs. If he is married, his widow may incur some debts. If your brohter is a minor, your pretns may incur some costs. but, for unmarried adults, the state does nto usually charge teh surving family members.
