Legal Question in Family Law in Kansas

Possible relocation out of state

My ex husband and I share joint custody of our four year old son. I am the custodial parent. My ex moved from Kansas to Texas over a year ago, and only sees his son when he visits his parents in Kansas. I am planning to move out of state (Kansas to Colorado) with in the next year. Since my ex already lives out of state, should I anticipate any legal problems when moving with my son?

Re: Possible relocation out of state

You are still required to provide 30-day prior registered mail Notice of your intention to move the residence of the child as discussed in our previous answers in LawGuru. The child's father may object based on the fact that he has a place to see the child while in Kansas (his parents' house) and he will not have that situation in Colorado.
