Termination of Spousel support when receiver remarries

The divorce papers state 600.00 per month spouse support for a period of 24 months with no modifications. The receiver of the support remarried soon after the divorce was final. Would the court approve termination of the support due to the spouse not needing the assistance? What are the laws governing remarriages?

If there was no provision in your settlement agreement for cessation of spousal support upon the marriage of the recepient, probably not. From the information you provided, you entered a contract to pay a sum certain.
