My husband is a illegal immigrant from Mexico and we have been married for two years and we have two kids together. I am just wondering what we would have to do for my husband to be able to get his american citizenship?

He is not eligible for American citizenship at this time, as he is an illegal immigrant. First of all, he has to obtain permanent residency (green card). IF approved, then after a certain number of years, he can apply for US citizenship. While he is still illegal, he is subject to deportation/removal from USA if apprehended by police or immigration/ ICE.

If he came to USA illegally, it's most likely that he will be required to go back to Mexico to apply for an immigrant visa at the US Consulate at C. Juarez.

He'll likely need to consular process for his green card assuming he entered the US illegally and no petition was ever filed for him in the past.
