Kansas rental properties must conform to state law and local codes. Vermin infestation is a violation of these codes. You should continue to file violation reports. State contract law allows a tenant to quit possession of a leasehold that a landlord has allowed to remain vermin infested. Be certain to document the conditions with photos, reports, invoices, etc. If the landlord fails to return your deposit, or sues you for rent or damages, you have the right to appear in court and tell your side of the story.
