I would advise you to consult with an experienced medical malpractice attorney. Most of them will discuss your case with you without charging you a consultation fee, so look for someone who does that. These are difficult and expensive cases and are usually taken on a contingency fee.

The first question is Has any doctor or other health care provider told you what caused the nerve damage in your husband's leg? You will need a medical opinion on that and the local doctors usually don't like to point the finger at the hospital or nurses, and vice versa. An attorney can help you get that opinion.

I will be glad to discuss this case with you. I have been handling medical negligence and other personal injury cases for years.

Good luck.
