Legal Question in Personal Injury in Kansas

wrongful death suit

We have had a death in the family, our lawyer has found a substanial amount of money on the insurance claim , but to go forward with this we would have to change the deceased last tax return , and we dont realy want to open that can of worms. Our problem is after discussing this with our attorney he , (in our opinion ), is still pushing for this .

We do not want to drag our loved ones name through the mud. If said lawyer does not go along with our wishes , what can we do? Thank your for any help you can give.

Re: wrongful death suit

I don't have enough facts to advise you on this situation, but I think you should consult with another attorney if you disagree with the advice you are getting. What is the nature of the insurance claim? Is it a wrongful death claim? Who are the heirs of the deceased who would have the right to bring the wrongful death claim? Why would the income tax return have to be amended and why would that open a can of worms or drag a name through the mud?

These questions should be discussed privately and not on the internet, in my opinion.

If you wish to discuss these matters, please call me. There is no charge for a consultation.
