Could I argue in court:
Although I have the money necessary for purchasing a home, the government is withholding my right to property because property taxes are too high?
Does this have any legal weight?
Whether the argument you plan is plausible, depends upon the nature of the law suit. If a seller is holding you to a sales contract, your argument will get a few laughs, but not the outcome you probably seek. If you are raising the issue in the trial or appeal of a suit against a governmental body, it might be useful in showing that there fails to be equity and reasoanbleness in the property tax estimate, or the valuation of the property.
Good luck
