Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Kansas

Blank Lease

I recently lost my job and moved out of my apartment. When i moved in to my apartment they had me sign a blank lease and filled in the address and things about 3 weeks later. since i broke my lease they are trying to get me to pay for the full year even though i lived there only six weeks. i was wondering if it was legal for them to have me sign a blank lease and what they can do to me now since i broke my lease. thank you

Re: Blank Lease

You have not provided enough information. What do you mean "blank" lease? Was it a blank paper or aform lease that did not yet have the blank spaces filled in? You probably are not liable for the entire year. But you probably are going to be liable for some period of time. However, you have not provided enough facts to be able to give you an idea how much.

Good Luck,
