Legal Question in Traffic Law in Kansas

In May 2006 I was given a ticket for driving under suspension in Kansas while driving through on vacation. I live in louisiana and don't have the means to pay the ticket. Since then I have a warrant for my arrest and it is a mandatory court appearance before the warrant and after. What options do I have to have this resoloved without having to go to kansas

Sometimes, a Kansas court may excuse a defendant from a misdemeanor appearance if the Defendant is out of state. If your license privileges have been reinstated, it is more likely that a court will excuse your presence. It is unclear from your question whether you are a Kansas or Louisiana licensed driver. If you are a Louisiana licensed driver, and you are unable to have your Louisiana license reinstated because of the Kansas citation, it may still be possible to obtain a clearance letter if the Kansas citation is adjudicated. In any event, if you want to resolve this without returning to Kansas, I would suggest contacting a Kansas attorney who does a lot of work with the Drivers License Bureau. Feel free to email me if you want to look into this.
